what's included in copyediting and proofreading

Remember, copyediting and proofreading are 2 distinct editorial passes. I do not provide copyediting and proofreading services in 1 edit. For more information, check out my rates below.

The Difference

Many authors struggle to edit and proofread their own work. I get itit’s hard to spot your own mistakes!

Maybe you don’t know how to edit and proofread.
Maybe you don’t have time.
Maybe you just don’t want to.

I can save you time and provide peace of mind. Outsource your editing and proofreading to me so that you can get back to focusing on doing the things that really move the needle in your business.

I strive to make your life easier with my services. One of my favorite parts about what I do is helping my clients to develop their own style guide. Don’t care about AP style or CMOS? No problem! Let’s refine your style so it suits you, then develop a guide to share with all of your collaborators. Future books are written more efficiently when everyone is on the same page with your house style guide!

The Results

What do you gain by working with me? The 3 Cs of my results for your writing are clarity, consistency, and credibility.

You'll benefit from having a second pair of eyes read over your work for logic and clarity of ideas. Reword confusing sentences and make sure your message is clear to your readers.

Strengthen your brand by adhering to a style guide. Just like your business's consistent aesthetic branding, your words need consistency, too. I'll make sure your writing stays on track.

The total absence of typos and errors is a huge trust signal to readers. It makes you look professional and gives credibility to your brand and ideas. Clients will buy if they perceive you as trustworthy and credible.
